I try to make everything as simple as possible. If you order a swing set through me, I will handle the order, the delivery, then deliver & install at your residence. If you purchase a set yourself, I would just need to know where you live and which set you bought so I can accurately give you a price to install.
Well, to be straightforward, as flat as possible. That's always the best scenario. But, I can work with slight slopes (depending on the set). Some manufacturers don't adjust so there will be times I need to add lumber to make sets work.
I started at Creative Playthings (which officially ended 2025) by seeing an add in the paper for an installer.
After spending about 1.5 years there, I was hired by another company to head up the installation side.
From there, I slowly started doing my own jobs for my own customers. I wanted to give them the support, the care, and the attention to detail that all customers deserve.
Yes, I have everything I need to build your swing set. I always have my own tools, ladder, saw horses, tables, and hand truck.
No, you don't. But if you did, I wouldn't be upset....at all. I carry my own hand truck to move all the boxes to the desired location.
I've been in this business a long time and I have a lot of contacts at different companies. If there are any boards missing, I will reach out to my contact at that company and have them ship the parts out to you directly. The same thing happens if boards are damaged. If it's something simple, I will show you how to install or replace it. If it's more complicated, I will return for free if I'm in the area. If not, there will be a small fee to return.
Most of my installs only take 1 day. Some of the bigger jobs, I will schedule 2 days for them if I don't have my helper with me.
Short answer, no. While some people want to be home, you don't need to be. I only need access to the swing set parts, the backyard, and the location of where you want it installed. That can be done by marking the yard and/or leaving me a diagram. I always text photos during my builds if you aren't home. I like to make this as simple as possible.
This can be a highly sensitive subject to all the manufacturers I build. To me, it depends on a number of factors.
1. Budget?
2. Size of your yard?
3. How many children and how old?
4. What type of wood do you want?
5. How long do you want it to last?
6. What accessories do your kids want?
I saw a clip of show called, "Suits." I'll change a couple words but you'll get the point.
Man: "How long have you been installing swing sets?"
Swing Set Man: "It'll be 26 years this fall."
Man: "Are you good at what you do?"
Swing Set Man: "I'm great at what I do!"
Man: "You're hired."
I have hundreds of photos of botched installs from multiple companies over multiple states. Some are just so bad, it makes me cringe looking over the photos. And this puts your children's safety at risk!
DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN'S SAFERY AT RISK TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS. HIRE A PROFESSIONAL!
